I was preparing for my morning live news report when a man on a cart selling goods (see pic) passed by the Maginhawa Community Pantry. He handed me a plastic bag with three packs of noodles.
Not knowing what to do with it (and I was busy preparing), I referred him to a volunteer.
He doesn’t seem to be well off, and I thought he was one of those who fell in line.
Got surprised when I learned he was donating those three packs of noodles at the pantry to be distributed for the people.
He passed by quickly, and I regret not getting his name, but one thing’s clear: that those who have less sometimes give more. May he earn more than enough today so he can keep on giving, and may the universe return his generosity tenfold. 🙂
UPDATE: I finally got in touch with the guy in this photo! His name is Alberto DT. Calanza. They used to have a canteen in Technohub but was forced to stop business during the pandemic as they were not allowed to enter Technohub anymore. So Mang Alberto resorted to selling goods with a cart! His children are currently pooling resources to buy Mang Alberto a new cart.
Will try to come up with something. If you wanna help, DM me! 🙂
